The Parish Council purchased the disused Grade II listed phone kiosk for the sum of £1. The kiosk was painted, a new light installed and is now used as a book exchange.
Parishioners and visitors alike are invited to take a book and replace it with another one, not necessarily at the same time, or to return the same book.
The books are recent ones and we have a really good selection for all interests. We discourage people from having a good clear out and dumping loads of ancient books. It is a much used village asset and so nice to see books being ‘recycled’ for others to enjoy.
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 23 - The kiosk has been painted and maintenance has taken place both in and outside.
DECEMBER 23 - An act of vandalism has taken place in the kiosk and some books were badly damaged. The remaining books have been taken to the book library at St. Mary's Church.
